Piazza Navona

I have used the sketch 1-15-16 at Let's Scrap to scrap some photos from Rome.

In the middle I used a stencil and Stone effect from Art Anthology.
I used chipboards from Blue Fern Studio, bricks and corners. I treated them with gesso and Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst sprays.

For embellishments I choose som Prima flowers and resins.

I wanted a lot of journaling, both about the piazza and it's fontains. So I used both a rectangle on the wright side and the space in the middle inside the stenceling.

The papers and embellishments are from previous kits from Swirlydoos.

Let's Scrap sketch 7-1-15

I have made another layout for our album from the trip to Rome some years ago. I've used this weeks sketch at Let's Scrap.

My double page layout with photos from the church Santa Maria Maggiore:

I have been playing with paint, mist, stensils and a stamp.
Her you see a flowercluster with the paints in the back. The lock and the key are made with Mod Podge silikon forms.

Here you can see more of the back. The paint is Viva Crackle paint in gold and burgunder.

The text stamp I have used randomly over the two pages is from North Star Stamps.

An angel resin:

The last flower cluster:

The story about why the church is built where it is.
It says "Pope Liberius had a dream in 356, in which virgin Mary told him to build a church at the place where he found snow. In the morning on August 5. it fell snow on Esquilin (one of the heights in Rome) so there he built the church.".

To LO'er laget i desember

Let's Scrap - Sketch 12-24-14

I have had some time to play with papers the last days and have used this weeks sketch at Let's Scrap, by Michelle van Wyk.

I have used some photos taken in Rome some years ago, a view from the Palatin. The papers and embellishments are from the September kit at Swirlydoos. I have used only one sheet of patterned paper (from Prima - Time Travel collection).

Some closeups:

I have played with a stencil and som crackle paint in two of the corners.

Let's Scrap sketch 9-3-14

Let's Scrap has gone blogg and the first sketch is up.
I have made a layout out of the sketch.

I have used patterned papers from Riddersholm and cardstock from Kaiser craft. The DA alphashipboards are painted with shimmerz inklingz. Both the paint and the papers is from Swirlydoos August kit.

The photos are from Rome, outside St. Peters church. We did see and hear the pope Benedikt XVI. You can see him up in the window. There where a lot of people outside listening.

A new sketch at Let's Scrap

This weeks sketch at Let's Scrap have both large and small photos and lot of space for journaling:

I still have a lot of photos from our trip to Rome and this time I used some photos taken in the church San Clemente. I love this church and always enjoy coming back. The most interesting parts are not seen on these photos, since you are not allowed to take photos downstairs. But under the church of today you can see the remainings of an older church and under it, there is some ruins from earlier times. This I tell about in the journaling.

Here are some closeups. First of the title. The letters are colored with gelatos (as the circle under it) and a bit of Lumin'Arte silks paint (golden).

At the bottom I have used lots of Prima Say it in Crystals:

The long journaling block:

Let's Scrap 7-9-14

It's Wednesday and a new sketch is up at Let's Scrap.

I'm still working through my photos from a trip to Rome some years ago and this week I have some photos taken at Trajans market. Who said that a modern shoppingsenter with over 100 shops is something the last century?
Trajans market hosted about 150 different shops and offices!

For this page I have used stuff from the June kit from Swirlydoos together with some craft paper and some alphachipboard and alphastickers from my stash.

I've used two stencils from Prima, one with distress ink on the background and the other up front with some paint.

As usually I had to add some handwritten journaling, telling about the place.

Sketch 6-25-14 at Let's Scrap

A new sketch is up at Let's Scrap.
This time it's this twopage sketch:

I first thought about making a collage of photos for the big photo on the left side. But when I looked through my photos I decided to put two and two photos together for two of the photos on the right side and use a big photo on the left side.
The photos are from Colosseum in Rome and my take on the sketch is this:

Most papers and embellishments are from the June kit from Swirlydoos.

The chipboard I found a year or two ago and have had laying around for these photos. I used some gesso on it and two colors of embossingpowder (from Lindys Stamp Gang) and finished with rubbing some distress ink on it.

I used som wood veneer and in the kit we also got this awesome rank with small bows.

Let's Scrap sketch 6-11-14

A new sketch is up at Let's Scrap:

I have used photos from St. Peters Basilica in Rome. I wanted to have information about the basilica on the page and near the photos, so I used a lot of textstrips for my journaling.

I used the italian name in the title.

I've used stamps, stensils, inks, gesso and mist ong the background.

On this layout there is not much embellishments, just a single flower and some bling.

I've got all the patterned papers and embellishments in kits from Swirlydoos.
